West Windsor, NJ 08540 - 2/16/21 Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on Route 1 near Buffalo Wild Wings

On February 16, 2021, a three (3) vehicle accident on U.S. Route 1 South near Buffalo Wild Wings resulted in a fatality as reported by the West Windsor Police Department. Preliminary investigation revealed the death of a 40-year-old female who was a resident of Trenton, NJ, and involved two vehicles operated by residents of North Brunswick, NJ, and Trenton, NJ. The decedent was operating a mini motorized bike in the center lane of U.S. Route 1 South, when she was struck by a Ford operated by the resident of North Brunswick. The operator of the Ford immediately pulled onto the shoulder and tried to aid the woman who lay in the roadway. However, traffic was heavy and the woman was struck by numerous vehicles. One of the vehicles that struck her was operated by the other resident of Trenton, NJ. Additional investigation revealed that the minibike was not equipped with lights and the female operator was dressed in dark clothing. As a result of the accident, U.S. 1 was closed for approximately 4 hours.
